New York, NY
770 Broadway, a former Wanamaker department store built in 1907, was redeveloped as a 21st-century office environment to attract the creative young talent identified within the area’s growing service-oriented businesses. With updated building systems, a newly cleaned façade, a stylish new lobby, and large floor plates, 770 Broadway is a popular address for designers, publishers, and advertising agencies.
Exterior improvements to the historic structure included: restoration of the building’s limestone base; lighting to accentuate the top two floors and the building’s cornice; a distinctive entrance canopy; insulated windows; and signage standards for retail space on street level.
Renovation of the lobby reflects the contemporary spirit of the building’s tenants. Its ceiling is raised and arched to create a gracious and impressive public space. A rich mix of wood, marble, and steel make for an interior environment that is both warm and sophisticated.
