The acoustic balance, the sightline scheme, the way a lobby prepares an audience for what it is about to experience — in a performing arts venue, each of these decisions shapes the others, which means all of them must be held by the same hand from beginning to end. H3 has built more than fifty performing arts centers on that understanding, each one an architecture of anticipation: from the street, through the approach, into the lobby, into the house, and up to the moment the lights go down.
